Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Coronavirus situation gives us proof of this Lord Acton quote. Here are the top five instances of how power has shown to be corrupt during the era of COVID.

4. John Kerry Removes Mask on Flight
John Kerry was spotted on a flight reading a book without a mask. He later said that “if” he wasn’t wearing a mask (as if you would believe him rather than your eyes,) it was just briefly. Judging by the position of his reading glasses on the end of his nose, maskless seem to be his preferred state while reading. Several “regular” people have been permanently barred from flights due to not wearing masks.
3. California Governor Gavin Newsom Attends Birthday Party
While much of the state was on lockdown, California Governor Gavin Newsom attended a birthday party for a lobbyist at a fancy French restaurant. He later said that it was a 50th Birthday Party, and he and the lobbyist had been friends for 25 years. Tell that to family members who couldn’t attend their parent’s funerals, Gov. Newsom!
2. While Suffering From COVID, CNN Reporter Chris Cuomo Goes for a Jog
CNN Reporter, and brother to the New York Governor, publicly announced that he had been diagnosed with COVID-19. During what should have been his quarantine period, he was spotted jogging in public.
Biden Family Maskless At Lincoln Memorial
One of Biden’s first acts as President was to require masks at national parks. That didn’t stop the Biden family from posing maskless at the Lincoln Memorial.
While it is fine for them to delay your daughter’s wedding, or to bar you from attending a family member’s funeral, these politicians think it is perfectly fine for them to ignore their own mandates. Power has corrupted. Absolutely.
